Other places to look for Esperantists are the social webs. You can find groups of Esperantists in Facebook, Orkut, Flickr or Ipernity.com, among others.

The "Passporto al la Tuta Mondo" progressive-learning video series (whose language and plot progresses with each 30-minute episode) is also a good introduction, and exposure to spoken Esperanto after (or during) a basic written course like the FEC (Free Esperanto Course).
