Earn Your College Credit on eduFire (a.k.a. Time to change the game)
History has shown that great paradigm shifts come in huge leaps, and not incrementally.
Clay Shirkey talks a lot about how big is different (and faster is different) in his book "Here comes Everybody". There is a part where he talks about how in observing the way that small movements gather pace, there are three main stages; Everybody knows, where people work out for themselves what the new paradigm is. Everybody knows everybody knows, where people recognise that other people know what's going on as well. And finally, the most powerful, and irrepressible stage, Everybody knows that everybody knows everybody knows, where people and the group have a shared awareness of the new reality that enables them to coordinate in ways not possible through organisation alone.
I think we have reached the second stage, where everybody knows that knowledge is at our fingertips. We are just moments away from realising that everybody knows that everybody knows.
Kinda like I do with @Lenette when I need nutrition information!! :)
